KESAB has a range of information and resources available to educate about waste management.

Recycling

Litter Research

The KESAB Litter Index is South Australia’s official litter count and volumetric tracking data base. The methodology was developed by KESAB and is refined and reviewed regularly to ensure litter types, count sites and that the counting process delivers high standard trend analysis. The methodology facilitates the KABNA National Litter.

‘Beyond the Kerb’ waste & recycling tours

KESAB conducts tours of waste and recycling sites for the community. Entitled ‘Beyond the Kerb’, these popular tours provide an opportunity for residents to find out where their recyclables, organics, and waste materials go after collection from the kerb.

Here’s what some participants had to say:

“I was amazed to learn what a multi-million dollar business recycling is!”

“A most informative day. If more people knew what we know, perhaps they would recycle more, and more carefully.”

“Each site had very knowledgeable guides and showed a very keen interest in their job.”

“Well-designed tour with the various speakers obviously proud of their companies’ achievements. I shall certainly endeavour to employ the new knowledge about recycling and spread the word wherever and whenever I can.”

Tours are facilitated by KESAB and subsidised by their respective Councils.

If you are a community group or organisation and are interested in booking a tour (fees apply), please contact KESAB for further information: Ph: 08 8234 7255, bookings@kesab.asn.au
